Q&A
Q1. What does E-4 mean? How do I fix it?
A: E-4 means the CODE card was not read. For cholesterol, you must first read the C-* CODE card (e.g., C-020) from that box.
Steps:
1.With no strip inserted, insert the C-* CODE card;
2.Wait for the code to display/confirm, then remove the card (once per box);
3.Insert a cholesterol strip, wait for the code/drop icon, then apply the sample.
Note: The “997” card only switches mg/dL ↔ mmol/L and is not a CODE card—using it will keep triggering E-4.
Q2: What does E-1 mean?
A: E-1 typically indicates the strip is invalid/treated as used (expired, moisture damage, or blood applied before insertion).
Many users apply blood first and then insert the strip—this incorrect order can trigger E-1.
Correct sequence:
1.Insert the strip first (gold contacts first) and wait for the code/drop icon;
2.Then touch the edge of the strip to the blood drop and let it sip (do not smear).
Quick checks:
Use a new, in-date, dry strip;
Clean, fully dry fingertip; sample ~1 μL;
Test at 10–40 °C (50–104 °F);
Use AuQty GUC-B01-compatible strips only.
